The tumble dryer will not start

The appliance is not plugged in, the fuse has blown, the START/PAUSE button has not been pressed, no program has been selected, or the door is not properly closed

Plug in the appliance, check the fuse, press the START/PAUSE button, select the required program, and close the door

The results are unsatisfactory

The wrong program has been selected, fluff filter blocked, condenser covered with fluff, the tumble dryer has been overloaded, laundry not sufficiently spun prior to tumble drying, the vent in the base of the appliance is covered, or a residue may have formed on the drum interior blocking the sensors

Select a different program, clean the fluff filter, clean the condenser, observe the maximum loads stated for each program, ensure the wash load is well spun before tumble drying, ensure the vent is clear, and clean the inside of the drum with white vinegar

The drying process takes unusually long

The condenser unit is covered with fluff or the fluff filter is clogged

Clean the condenser unit and clean the fluff filter

The door cannot be closed

Fluff filter has not been inserted correctly and/or the filter lid not closed

Replace the fluff filter and ensure the filter lid is closed

Troubleshooting

The AEG LAVATHERM 57320 Dryer has some known problems that occur often. Here are some easy to do solutions for the problems or error codes your AEG might be giving you.

END (EINDE) displayed shortly after program start

The drying process terminates automatically due to too dry or too little laundry for the selected program. Select a time program or a higher drying stage such as EXTRA DRY instead of VERY DRY.

END (EINDE) display illuminated, program run display flashing

The drying process takes unusually long, 4.5 hours after the beginning: due to the SPECIAL CARE button pressed and too much laundry filled. Check the program selection: SPECIAL CARE button is appropriate only for laundry amounts up to 2.5kg. Reduce the amount of laundry filled-in. Pre-dry the laundry more thoroughly.

Door cannot be closed

Fluff filter has not been inserted correctly and/or the filter lid not closed. Replace the fluff filter and ensure the filter lid is closed.

Safety Precautions

The condensed water from the dryer is not suitable for drinking or using with foodstuffs. Regular cleaning of the condenser is essential for economic operation. The dryer should not be operated with a damaged or blocked fluff filter. Repairs should only be carried out by trained personnel to prevent hazards.

Control Panel Features

The control panel includes a program selector and run display. Buttons include SPECIAL CARE for gentle drying of sensitive fabrics, AUDIBLE SIGNAL for end of program alerts, and START/PAUSE to control the program sequence. The program run display indicates the current drying phase.

Environmental Tips

For efficient operation, ensure the fluff filter is cleaned after every drying cycle. The dryer will operate economically when the appropriate drying program is selected based on the type and quantity of laundry. Recycling of materials from the appliance is advised.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular maintenance includes cleaning the condenser and fluff filter. For cleaning the panel and parts, use a damp cloth without aggressive detergents. The drum light activates upon opening the door for easy handling.

Drying Programs and Capacities

The dryer features several programs such as COTTONS, DELICATES, and TIME programs. COTTONS allow a maximum load of 5 kg, while DELICATES support up to 2.5 kg. Time programs are suitable for loads under 1 kg. The SPECIAL CARE button should be used for loads up to 2.5 kg.

End of Drying Process

An acoustic signal sounds at the end of the drying process. The cooling phase starts shortly before the end, with the heater switching off. The END/CREASE GUARD display illuminates, indicating it is safe to remove the laundry.

Installation and Electrical Connection

Electrical connections should be made by an authorized electrician. The nominal voltage and type of current must match the specifications on the type plate.
